포드, 메타버스 및 NFT시장에 상표출원 신청?

크립토뉴스(CryptoNews)는 9일(현지시간) 미국 자동차 대기업 포드가 메타버스 및 대체불가토큰(NFT) 시장을 겨냥한 다수의 상표출원을 신청했다고 보도했다. 보도에 따르면 포드는 미국 특허상표청(USPTO)에 Metiverse 및 NFT 관련 상표에 대해 19건의 신청서를 제출했다.

서류에서 회사는 "자동차, SUV, 트럭 및 밴을 위한 다운로드 가능한 가상 상품 제공"과 "NFT 인증 아트워크, 텍스트, 오디오 및 비디오가 포함된 다운로드 가능한 멀티미디어 파일 제공" 계획을 밝혔다. Ford(포드)는 또한 온라인 가상 자동차, SUV, 트럭 및 밴, 육상 차량 부품 및 액세서리, 엔터테인먼트 서비스를 제공하고 가상 및 증강 현실을 통해 온라인 전시회를 개최하는 것을 목표로 한다. 크립토뉴스에 따르면 미국에서는 GM의 브랜드 쉐보레가 포드에 앞서 지난 6월 첫 NFT 행사를 통해 자동차 경매를 진행했다.

CryptoNews reported on the 9th (local time) that US auto giant Ford has filed a number of trademark applications targeting the metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) markets.
Reportedly, Ford has filed 19 applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for Metiverse and NFT-related trademarks.

In the filing, the company revealed plans to "offer downloadable virtual goods for cars, SUVs, trucks and vans" and "offer downloadable multimedia files containing NFT-certified artwork, text, audio and video".
Ford also aims to provide online virtual cars, SUVs, trucks and vans, land vehicle parts and accessories, entertainment services, and to host online exhibitions through virtual and augmented reality. According to CryptoNews, in the United States, GM's brand Chevrolet held its first NFT event in June before Ford to auction a car.
